Paxten Aaronson was the match-winner as his brace against Costa Rica Under-20s sent the USA into the semi-finals of the CONCACAF Under-20 Championship.
Aaronson scored early in both halves as the USA Under-20s not only made the semi-finals but also qualified for the Under-20 World Cup in 2023, where Indonesia will be the host nation.
Philadelphia Union players have played a crucial role in the USA's progression throughout the tournament, with Quinn Sullivan, Jack McGlynn and Brandon Craig also a part of the squad.
Sullivan is the tournament's second top goal scorer with five goals, while Aaronson sits just one behind him in the scoring charts after last night. Craig has started in three of the five fixtures, where the USA has kept clean sheets in two of them.
Jack McGlynn has also played an important role in the tournament, having featured in every game and scored a great goal against Canada Under-20s in the group stage.
The Union's key influence throughout the tournament is a great advert for the club's academy that continues to produce bright prospects that are not only shining on the continent but in Europe as well.
