LSU Media Day Recap

The LSU Tigers completed their pro day as well as their media day on Wednesday. The LSU Tigers feature one of the top prospects in this draft as well as a player that I feel is high on the Eagles radar. Check out what these two players had to say.

Ja'Marr Chase

LSU's number 1 prospect in this years draft, and one of the most electric prospects in recent memory. The majority of questions directed towards Ja'Marr were about the rumors that the Cincinnati Bengals were interested in a Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase reunion. As a college football fan, it was one of the most entertaining duos of all time. Myself and most football fans would love to see this reunion happen. Chase responded to every question about Burrow and the Bengals very consistently. He would love to reunite with Joe, but that instant chemistry will not be there. Chase understands that it will take time to rebuild the connection but he is very intrigued about the idea. Burrow was surrounded another question, and Chase credits him for making everyone on LSU so good. He does not feel he would be the player he is today without Joe Burrow.

If there is any doubt about Chase's athleticism, he proved all those haters wrong. He ran a 4.38 40 time this morning. Most people could stop there and you would be pleased. However, he says there are two other drills that he feels are his two best performances. Chase talked about how his 41-inch vertical shocked him. He then followed up both of those performances with an 11-foot broad jump. If you want to doubt his athleticism, you may need to get glasses.

Terrace Marshall Jr

Here is a guy, that I hope the Eagles draft with their 2nd round pick. I like to consider Terrace Marshall Jr the hidden gem of the 2019 National Championship team. Playing behind Chase and Justin Jefferson, he put up numbers that would make him a solid WR1 on most college football programs. I understand him not getting as much praise. Playing behind one of the best WR's in this years draft as well as a player who is a top-5 WR in the NFL, I can see how you don't recognize him, but you better remember his name!

In 2020, his numbers were very consistent to his numbers in 2019. Even though he was WR1 he played in half the amount of games in 2020. Check out his response to why he decided to play in 2020 rather than opting out like his teammates.

The Eagles chances of drafting Chase are very slim after they traded back to the 12th pick. He is definitely the electric WR the Eagles have been missing for a long time. Chase seems like a very solid guy that is really going to connect with his teammates and the fans of whichever organization drafts him.

Terrace Marshall Jr may or may not be there for the Eagles when they select in the 2nd round. If he is there, I think the Eagles should not even hesitate in drafting him. I expect with the Eagles moving back in the draft, they will not take a pass catcher but will take a defensive player or offensive lineman. If Marshall falls to the Eagles in the 2nd round, we should get on the Terrece Marshall hype train immediately. Remember, he is the forgotten member of that legendary LSU offense. We all saw what happened when the Eagles passed on a WR last draft, lets not do that again!
