Eagles agree to contract with S Andrew Adams

The Eagles have agreed to a deal with free agent safety Andrew Adams, according to a report from The Athletic.

Adams, a five-year veteran, spent the last three seasons with the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He has racked up six interceptions and 136 tackles in his career with the Giants and Bucs, starting 32 games.

Adams has split time as a backup and a starter, mainly lining up as a free safety. He was most recently a full-time starter in 2019. Adams is not expected to start for the Eagles but he brings valuable depth to the secondary and valuable veteran experience.

Adams has also been a key contributor on special teams and looks to be a replacement for S Rudy Ford as a backup safety who plays a big role on special teams.

Contract details are not out yet.
