The hot topic in the NFL right now is Indianapolis Colts HB Jonathan Taylor & whether he'll be traded or not. The Colts have given Taylor a Tuesday deadline to facilitate a trade, according to reports.
Well, the Philadelphia Eagles have been in contact with the Indianapolis Colts in regards to a Taylor trade, a source close to the situation told AATBirds' Joe Castro.
The source added the two sides are trying to work out a deal but there are no positives at the moment.
Taylor, 24, is coming off an injury rittled 2022 season where an ankle injury limited him to 11 games. Taylor got ankle surgery this past offseason. In 2021 however, Jonathan Taylor won the rushing title with 1,811 & led the league in rushing touchdowns with 18. A monster season & a monster player when healthy.
The star HB is set to become an unrestricted free agent next offseason. A season behind the Eagles' star-studded offensive line could up Taylor's value on the open market. He is seeking a big time contact extension.
Time will tell if a deal materializes, but the Eagles have indeed been in contact. Teams like the Chicago Bears & Miami Dolphins are other potential fits for the Colts star.
The two teams meet tonight in Philadelphia for the final preseason game for both squads. The Colts have been in Philly since Tuesday.
