7 Round Eagles Mock Draft

Draft season is not too far away. Even though the Eagles season is far from over, it is never to early to look ahead to the draft. If you want to make sure you are up to date on all the top prospects, Eagles prospects, and maybe even some guys ESPN is not talking about, but you need to know, make sure you follow myself on X!

*Side note: I have been covering the NFL Draft for 5 years now. My X account was unfortunately deactivated, but am trying to rebuild my page and my community!

Throughout the draft season, I will have Eagles mock drafts, player articles, player interviews, and full NFL Draft mocks!

*Draft positions are not locked in yet and will not be finalized until after the Super Bowl! These are based off their current record and the current draft order!

  1. Josh Simmons OT Ohio State

Howie Roseman loves to build from the trenches and he also loves to draft guys that may not be ready to contribute day 1. With Lane Johnson's coming up on the end of his career, the Eagles will look to find his successor. Johnson still has a couple more years left in him before he will be ready to retire. I expect the team to find his replacement similar to Cam Jurgens and Jason Kelce. Simmons had season ending knee surgery in October. He is set to be ready by week 1, but the injury has dropped him in recent draft boards. If the Eagles can get a premier tackle in this class that would be able to spend his rookie season and possible his sophomore season truly developing behind Johnson, the Eagles can now find their new long-term RT for the future. Cam Jurgens sat behind Jason Kelce for two years and learned under him and Jeff Stoutland. Now in his 1st season as the starter he is off to the Pro Bowl. Look for the Eagles to do the same with the RT position and Lane Johnson.

  1. Jack Sawyer DE Ohio State

I said earlier, Howie loves to build from the trenches. After selecting his new RT, he goes to the defensive line and finds his replacement for Brandon Graham. To make things easier, he sticks with Ohio State. Sawyer is one of the strongest rushers in this class. He will need some time to develop to the NFL, but he has the ceiling to be a force for the Eagles. He has a great first step and has enough arm strength to open any small gap in the line. With the DE class being so deep, Sawyer is getting overlooked a bit, but he has everything in his tool box to play day 1.

  1. Kevin Winston Jr S Penn State

One area for the Eagles I wish they would get more depth is the safety position. When either Reed Blankenship and CJ Gardner-Johnson exit a game, it feels the Eagles secondary take a massive hit. Winston is coming off a knee injury as well, but when healthy he was a 1st round pick. By drafting Winston Jr, the Eagles will get some much needed depth at the safety position with a player with incredible upside. His great speed and elite tackling ability make him such a great prospect. He may not start day 1, but his ability to also play on special teams is a plus.

  1. Luke Lachey TE Iowa

With all the success that Iowa has had at the TE position, the Eagles should definetely look to Lachey as a draft candidate this year. Lachey is a good pass catcher and can run decent routes. However, his blocking his phenomenal. He is the best TE blocker in this class and can also be an extra weapon for Jalen Hurts in the pass game. Howie has struggled to find a TE3 in recent years and seeing has great Iowa TE's have been, this should be an excellent pick for them.

  1. Trevor Etienne RB Georgia

Kenny Gainwell is set to be a free agent this offseason, and we will be shocked if he is back next season. After Saquon Barkley received a monster contract last off-season and with the season Kenny Gainwell is having, he is going to get a big contract from another team this offseason. Etienne would be an excellent RB2 for the Eagles. He has great speed and balance, while also succeeding well with yards after contact. Would love the Eagles to get their hands on yet another Georgia Bulldog!

  1. Marcus Wehr OG Montana State

Sometimes the hidden gems are from schools that you have never seen games from. Marcus Wehr has everything to be a diamond in the rough. One of the best interior offensive lineman in all of FCS in 2024. In 28 career games he never gave up a sack and only 6 QB pressures. He is big for a player at his position and excels tremendously in the run game. With Mekhi Becton's future with the Eagles uncertain, Howie could look to find a new cheaper OG.
